Freedom is a faculty of childhood and a synonym of movement. The little boy and girl shown in the painting symbolize the two paths which are somethimes offered to us, representing a dilemma for us as to which path to take. They are motionless, holding hands and looking forward to the future together. The two children embody the freedom that each of us should have to choose our path in life.
